Force; A Poem by Kine Fall

There is a force that is holding you back.
There is a force that is holding you back.

Still docked at the harbor,
While the foghorn bellows.
Still docked at the harbor,
Drifting against the current of the other boats closing in.

Lighthouse revolving,
showing them the way-
and there you sit and wait
Docked at the edge of the bay.

And in the pub while the sailors chuckle and share,
their many adventures and mermaiden affairs

You chug and sigh,
letting life pass you by
now you sit on the bow, asking the heavens
“Why?!” “How!?”

The wind answers gently, rocking port side
and you turn to notice the rope had never been tied.
